Technically, there's an annual income loophole when it comes to collecting Asia Miles. If you don't meet the annual income requirements of the Neo Cathay cards, you can also apply for eligible RBC Avion or American Express credit cards that allow you to transfer their respective rewards points to Asia Miles.
This type of transfer is most valuable with RBC Avion, since transfers can be made at a 1:1 ratio. Slightly lower annual income cards are also available with decent transferable reward rates, like the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card. Alternatively, for no annual income requirement (but a lower flat-rate of transferable point-potential) you can take a look at the RBC Avion Visa Platinum Card.
The transfer rate for American Express Membership Rewards to Asia Miles is less than 1:1. For every 1,000 Membership Rewards points, you'll only receive 750 Asia Miles. Still, there are plenty of Amex cards that have lucrative point-potential, like the American Express Cobalt Card.
