No single credit card works for everyone. One person might spend heavily in a specific category like food or groceries, while another might be planning a major trip. Some individuals may have excellent credit and high incomes, while others might be focused on building their credit from scratch.
That’s why evaluating the pros and cons of different cards, understanding which ones you qualify for, and being matched to a card tailored to your spending habits can save you significant time and maximize your rewards in the long run.
This tool is primarily designed to help you calculate rewards and compare card perks. If you're looking for credit cards with low interest rates or balance transfer options, please use the links provided above the tool to find the most suitable options. Otherwise go ahead with using the tool.
To get started, enter your spending categories, either manually or by securely connecting your financial institution. Next, select the types of credit cards you're interested in, such as rewards or cashback and also select the perks you want the credit card to have. You can also choose whether or not you prefer cards with annual fees. Finally, enter your credit score and income to filter for cards you're more likely to be approved for.
By default, the tool ranks cards based on Net Annual Rewards Earned, which reflects long-term value. However, if you're looking for a large welcome bonus and plan to switch cards frequently, you can change the sorting to First-Year Value to prioritize short-term gains.
This tool was originally developed to solve a core problem identified by the FinlyWealth team: the lack of accurate reward calculations for credit cards. Most existing tools offered broad estimates and were not optimized to account for the nuances of different spending categories.
To address this, Kevin Shahnazari applied his data science expertise over six months to build a highly precise algorithm that dives deep into the reward structures of Canadian credit cards. He partnered with Abid Salahi, who led the design and development of the user interface to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience.
Since its launch, the tool has become one of the most widely shared credit card comparison tools in Canada, praised for its groundbreaking accuracy. It has been shared thousands of times across social media platforms and websites, setting a new standard in credit card recommendation technology.
