5 Benefits of the Triangle World Elite Mastercard
Now that you’ve brushed up on its rewards, let’s take a look at the Triangle World Elite Mastercard’s benefits:
No Annual Fee
For starters, like all Canadian Tire credit cards, the Triangle World Elite Mastercard has no annual fee, making it an affordable option for those who could benefit from it.
Rare Roadside Assistance
Roadside assistance can help you out if you need a flat tire change, lockout services, or towing.
Overall, this perk is considered rare, and what makes it even rarer on the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is the fact that the card comes with no annual fee and this unique benefit.
With this Triangle World Elite Mastercard specifically, you’ll receive the Triangle World Elite Mastercard Roadside Assistance Gold Plan, which can get you a towing distance of up to 250 km per service call to any destination of your choosing – as long as it’s in Canada or the United States.
Fuel Savings
Another road-oriented benefit on the Triangle World Elite Mastercard are its gas discounts on premium fuel and all other fuel types at Gas+ and Petro Canada.
Concierge Services
If you ever find yourself pressed for time or unsure of how to curate the best itinerary, the Triangle World Elite Mastercard’s concierge services can help you secure the hottest restaurants, concert tickets, and travel arrangements.
Personalized Weekly Offers
Triangle Rewards members will also receive a weekly personalized offer based on the things they currently need. These exclusive offers are activated through your Triangle Rewards account in the Triangle App, the Triangle website, or via email.
2 Downsides of the Triangle World Elite Mastercard
Of course, there are bound to be some drawbacks on the Triangle World Elite Mastercard.
Scroll through the following downfalls and see whether or not either is a dealbreaker.
Higher Income Requirements
You might have been wondering how the Triangle World Elite Mastercard could be the best Canadian Tire Credit Card, and like its competitors, still avoid annual fees.
Well, there’s one aspect of this credit card that makes it less accessible to many applicants, contributing to some exclusivity. This potential application setback is the Triangle World Elite Mastercard’s high income requirements, making it better suited to high-earners.
Better as a Back-up
If you’re looking for one all-encompassing credit card, a Canadian Tire credit card, like the Triangle World Elite Mastercard might not be the best primary option considering its rewards are geared towards Canadian Tire exclusively. In other words, this card might be too exclusive when it comes to redemptions.
Instead, this contender might be best paired with another more flexible credit card that optimizes all your other day-to-day expenses and allows you to use these rewards elsewhere.
Comparison to Other Canadian Tire Credit Cards
After that last point, if you’re still here, it’s because you’re still interested in a Canadian Tire credit card.
In case you want to keep your options open before making a final decision, we’re going to quickly compare the Triangle World Elite Mastercard to the other two Canadian Tire credit cards on the market.

Triangle World Elite Mastercard vs Triangle Mastercard
Let's say you want a Triangle Mastercard but you can’t quite meet the Triangle World Elite Mastercard’s high income requirements. In that case, the Triangle Mastercard is a good alternative.
Like the Triangle World Elite Mastercard, the Triangle Mastercard earns you the same cashback in Canadian Tire dollars on almost everything at Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Mark’s, L’Équipeur, Party City, Pro Hockey Life, Atmosphere, Sports Rousseau, Hockey Experts, L’Entrepôt du Hockey, and participating Sports Experts stores. The real difference kicks in on the eligible grocery purchases earn category, which gets you about half the amount of cashback you’d receive with the Triangle World Elite Mastercard. Likewise, the base rate on all other eligible purchases is half the base rate of the Triangle World Elite Mastercard.
The Triangle Mastercard cuts back in other areas too. While the Triangle World Elite Mastercard earns cardholders purchase protection and car rental damage and theft insurance, the Triangle Mastercard lacks insurance coverage altogether.
Similarly, while the Triangle World Elite Mastercard offers rare roadside assistance, gas discounts, and concierge services, the Triangle Mastercard only offers those same gas discounts on premium fuel and all other fuel types at Gas+ and Petro Canada.
Therefore, you’d likely only swap your Triangle World Elite Mastercard for the Triangle Mastercard if you’re a frequent Canadian Tire shopper who doesn’t meet the high income requirements of the Triangle World Elite Mastercard, but you still want some similar rewards and perks.
Triangle World Elite Mastercard vs Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard
If you’re looking for a unique and flexible Canadian Tire rewards program, you could consider the Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard, although we don’t necessarily recommend it considering it’s not as good as either Triangle Mastercard.
Still, unlike its superior competitors, the Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard comes with a tiered earning system that allows you to earn higher cashback rates on eligible purchases every time you meet a specific spending milestone. You’ll also receive double the cashback on purchases made at Canadian Tire stores, Canadian Tire gas bars, and Mark’s.
Please note, however, that since the first tier of cashback you’ll receive on your first few purchases is so low, the next couple of tiers aren’t much higher by comparison – which is why we typically don’t recommend this credit card. In all honesty, we consider it to be one of the worst credit cards in Canada for collecting rewards.
Let’s say you make it to the highest spending tier on this card’s rewards system. Sadly, you still won’t earn as much cashback on Canadian Tire purchases as you would with either Triangle credit card.
To make matters worse, the card doesn’t even compensate for its lousy rewards program with any insurance coverage or perks.
Overall, the Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard should be avoided unless it’s a last resort for Canadian Tire dollar cashback. Either Triangle credit card will provide you with much better earning potential and perks – especially if you earn enough to apply for the Triangle World Elite Mastercard. Sure, you can build up the base rate on the Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard for all other purchases, but there are still tons of better no-fee cashback cards on the Canadian market with better rewards and perks.
Final Verdict
If you’re intent on getting your hands on a Canadian Tire credit card, you can’t do any better than the Triangle World Elite Mastercard.
This card earns you the most Canadian Tire dollar cashback and it comes with insurance coverage and better perks (as opposed to the Triangle Mastercard alternative).
The biggest downside of the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is the fact that it comes with some high income requirements, so it’s only available to high-earners. If you’re not a high enough earner, you’ll have to settle for the less valuable but still beneficial Triangle Mastercard.
There is another Canadian Tire credit card, the Canadian Tire Cash Advantage Mastercard, but this credit card’s tiered system isn’t worthwhile, nor does it get you better cashback than either Triangle Mastercard.
Ultimately, if you’re a high-earning frequent Canadian Tire shopper, the Triangle World Elite Mastercard is a great credit card that you could even pair with another more flexible credit card for your everyday errands.
